DUI Do's and Don't's

Do:

Do be courteous and polite.
Do provide your driver's license, registration and insurance card.
Do ask for and call an attorney immediately.
Do get an independent blood test from the hospital immediately upon your release.


Don't:

Don't do sobriety tests, the portable breath test, or allow your eyes to be tested.
Don't admit ANYTHING.
Don't be rude, argumentative, or try to talk your way out of an arrest.
Don't answer questions without speaking with an attorney.
Don't blow into the breath machine longer than necessary to give a valid sample.
