WHAT IS A MISSOURI LIMITED DRIVING PRIVILEGE?
If your Missouri driver's license has been suspended and if you cannot get your driver's license back, but you need to drive for employment or other important matters, you may apply for limited driving privilege.
You may get such privileges unless you have certain convictions or losses of driver's license on your driving record. Some convictions or past losses of license are so serious that a limited driving privilegewill not be granted, even for you to get to work.
In these cases, you will have to wait until you are eligible for your driver's license being reinstated without being able to drive, even to work, while suspended. According to Missouri law, the reasons why you cannot get a limited driving privilege, include, but are not limited to:
Already received limited a driving privilege within the last five-year period;
Conviction for a felony involving the use of a motor vehicle;
Conviction for leaving the scene of a motor accident (does not include municipal or county convictions)
Two or more revocations for refusing a drug or alcohol chemical test
Disqualification of commercial driving privileges (Note: Only a non-commercial limited driving privilege may be issued in this case)
Conviction for driving a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs or controlled substances.
