Maximum Sentence: 364 days in jail (90 day license suspension and $400 fine)

Synopsis:

Client was stopped for extreme erratic operation in Boothbay. The arresting officer testified that client smelled of alcohol and admitted to taking prescription drugs. The defense was able to convince the Court to exclude evidence of prescription drug consumption due to lack of evidentiary foundation proffered by the State. Despite the admissions of being impaired, client was subsequently acquitted. Although the defense called no expert witnesses to trial, the pretrial support provided by forensic chemist Patrick Demers was essential to the Court’s ruling to exclude the evidence of prescription drug consumption.

Verdict: Not Guilty
