About Kansas DUI Defense Lawyer Brian L. Leininger
Kansas DUI
Defense Attorney Brian Leininger has handled over 2000 DUI cases
and is ready and available to help you with your case. He has
been practicing KS DUI law every working day since 1991.
Brian began his legal career as a Research Attorney for the
Kansas Court of Appeals, where he honed his legal research skills
and became intimately familiar with the appellate process. He
moved on to become an Assistant District Attorney in Wyandotte
County, Kansas and prosecuted cases ranging from traffic offenses
to rapes, robberies and homicides. He was the head of the Traffic
Unit for about three years, during which time he reviewed, filed
and prosecuted well over 1000 DUI cases. As an experienced Kansas DUI Lawyer, he also served as a
part-time city prosecutor for nearly four years. Brian knows
the tricks of the prosecutors trade and can use them to
your advantage in KS.
Brian left the D.A.s office to become General Counsel
to the Kansas Highway Patrol. In nearly five years with the
Patrol, he trained troopers and other officers around Kansas
in the law of DUI and drug cases. Brian took advantage of the
opportunity to complete extensive police training in KS. As a Kansas DUI Defense Attorney, he is certified
to administer the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and is trained
in the use of the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath testing instrument.
Brian is a graduate of the FBI National Law Institute and is
one of only a few lawyers anywhere to have successfully completed
the training to become a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). DREs
are the officers called in to investigate when a driver is suspected
of driving under the influence of a drug other than alcohol
(DUID). If you hire Brian as your Kansas DUI Lawyer, you can be fairly assured that your
lawyer has had more DUI training than the officer who arrested
you.
In 2001 Brian entered the private practice of law and has been
defending those accused of DUI and other crimes since that time.
He is a frequent speaker to lawyers seminars on the defense
of DUI and DUID cases and other topics. He is licensed in Kansas
and Missouri. Even a first DUI conviction in Kansas means mandatory
jail time, a high fine, a license suspension and higher insurance
rates. Do not trust your case to a lawyer who primarily writes
wills or handles divorces and only does a couple of DUI cases
a year. DUI defense is what Brian Leininger does, every day as a knowledgeable DUI Defense Attorney in KS.
