Allen Trapp is a magna cum laude graduate of the college
of law at Georgia State University and is one of only four
attorneys in the State of Georgia board certified by the National
College for DUI Defense.
Mr. Trapp is the only attorney in west Georgia who has taken
the NHSTA 24-hour Standardized Field Sobriety Testing course,
attended a Drug Recognition Expert course, and owns an Intoxilyzer
5000, the breath testing machine used by the police all across
Georgia.
Mr. Trapp is a frequent lecturer on legal subjects at the
State University of West Georgia, various civic groups, and
even police agencies. He is also a three-time graduate of
the advanced course "Mastering Scientific Evidence in
DUI/DWI Cases." He is frequently called upon to speak
at continuing legal education seminars where he shares with
other attorneys his expertise in defending DUI cases.

Mr. Trapp has obtained non-DUI dispositions in approximately
two-thirds of his DUI cases. He has, therefore, become the
GO TO GUY FOR DUI in west Georgia. Mr. Trapp is currently
involved in a frontal attack on virtually every aspect of
the shameful breath testing system in place in Georgia, and
those challenges will be heard by the Supreme Court of Georgia
in the near future. Within the past year he has proven that
the Division of Forensic Sciences was not inspecting the Intoxilyzer
5000 in accordance with their own approved methods, which
led to a change in the inspection protocol.
Mr. Trapp also handles other criminal matters and achieved
considerable local fame when his client was acquitted of murder
and arson following an eight-day trial approximately five
years ago. You can read more about this case in Other Cases of
Interest. A majority of our non-DUI criminal cases
are drug cases. With the Villa Rica Police Department,
Douglas County Sheriffs Department, and other agencies
targeting out-of-state drivers on I-20, we are representing
more and more out-of-state motorists who have been arrested
for drug offenses on this stretch of highway.
