Attorneys and Staff
Jeffrey S. Siirtola, PC focuses its practice primarily on defending drivers accused of driving under the influence, and puts tremendous time, energy, and expense into defending these types of cases. It is a luxury that few general practice attorneys can afford. We typically defend fifty or more dui clients at any one time, unlike general practitioners who may have four or five dui cases and many more divorces and civil cases.
Nothing else gets in the way of our focus on your case, the investigation and preparation of your case, and striving for the best possible result for each and every one or our driving under the influence clients.
Our lawyers have detailed knowledge and technical training necessary to get excellent results. Our lawyers spend dozens of hours each year increasing their technical and practice skills training throughout the country. Our lawyers write books and other publications on defending the drinking driver. Our lawyers teach and make technical presentations throughout the United States for other lawyers and judges, which place them on the cutting edge. Such cutting edge knowledge is critical to effective representation of our clients in this complex area of the law.
Arizona DUI defense lawyer Jeffrey S. Siirtola
Jeffrey Siirtola is the founder of Jeffrey S. Siirtola, PC. He has practiced law in Arizona since 1987. Eight years ago, Jeffrey made a commitment to get the best technical and DUI defense educational and training, and attended his first summer session of the National College for DUI Defense, Inc. in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Two years ago, Jeffrey focused his practice on DUI defense. His success in defending DUI cases
is recognized within Arizona, by his membership on the DUI Committee of Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice (AACJ). Jeffrey was the first lawyer in Arizona to purchase his own Intoxilyzer breath testing device. He is the only attorney living outside Phoenix and Tucson serving on the statewide Committee.
In 2006, Jeff became the first Arizona DUI lawyer to publish a book for non-lawyer citizens accused
of driving under the influence, intended to assist them from their initial plea of not guilty through the entire unfamiliar process of facing and defending DUI charges: 'A Citizen's Guide to the DUI-DWI
Criminal Justice Process in Arizona.'
Jeffrey Siirtola has attended the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD) summer program taught in
Cambridge, Massachusetts seven (7) times in the last ten (10) years; and the winter program taught at
other locations three times, for a total of ten sessions. This is the premiere educational course
available to attorneys desiring the best instruction in DUI defenses, strategies, and technical
information.
At the national level, Jeffrey received peer recognition two (2) years ago, as a Sustaining Member of
the National College for DUI Defense, Inc., which was presented by his instructors in Cambridge, Massachusetts at a summer session of the National College. In the last three years, Siirtola has been invited to lecture and given technical presentations to DUI defense lawyers in several states as an expert on the Intoxilyzer breath testing devices, jury selection, exclusion of Spanish-speakers and Hispanics from jury panels, and other issues regarding DUI defense in Tucson, Arizona; Tempe ,Arizona; Arlington,Texas; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; West Palm Beach, Florida; and at the Mastering Scientific Evidence (MSE) Seminar taught at Georgia Tech campus in Atlanta, Georgia.
Siirtola is believed to be the only DUI lawyer in Arizona to own four (4) Intoxilyzer breath testing devices;
and the first lawyer to not only receive BAT operators certificates for the Intoxilyzer 5000; the Intoxilyzer 8000; and a practitioner's certificate for National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) standardized field sobriety tests (SFST's) used by law enforcement officers; but also a phlebotomy certificate for proper medical procedures for blood draws.
During our first consultation with you, which is free until you make a decision to hire us, we will
review your questionnaire, advise you of the potential legal consequences of a conviction and
possible SR-22 consequences of a conviction; discuss the facts in your case, options and possibilities
of running specific defenses in your case. Regardless of whether we take on a particular case, the
information we provide, including a potential consequences of conviction chart, is invaluable. Usually,
we will be able to show you exactly what the sentence will be, if you were to show up in court at your initial appearance or arraignment, and say the word 'guilty' in front of the judge, including the penalties and civil MVD consequences of any guilty plea to your charges.
You may be pleasantly surprised at the information we are able to give you, in a first office appointment, at no initial cost.
In addition to a free initial consultation, at the end of your initial office consultation, you may receive a copy of Mr. Siirtola's new book, published in 2006, 'A Citizen's Guide through the DUI-DWI Criminal Justice Process in Arizona,' (First Edition), a $17.95 value, at no additional charge.
